Dona tella Versace that I found this! It's our secret!

Recently my best friend and I have become obsessed with American Crime Story- The Assassination Of Gianni Versace. Our voicemails are full of very bad deep voice 'Donnatella impressions' This week I even sent her a picture of a house on a street near by that is incredibly 'showy' and has huge potential to be turned into an obscenely vulgar & opulent Versace Palace. Luckily for the neighborhood and the Home Owners Assoc. it isn't for sale!

Our longtime love and fascination with Gianni has definitely been fueled by the series. His iconic prints and beyond brilliant genius will forever be a immortalized in fashion history. As I have mentioned before I have a little life phrase "more is more" and nobody kicked minimalism in the throat more than him. A true fashion spirit animal.

My love of fabric, design, textiles and runways is always marred a little by my fat ass! I have always been restricted to buying accessories and leather goods from design houses because they are often the only thing that will fit!

For squad birthdays we have a tradition of incorporating a theme into our outfits (because we are basic like that!) Last year was "Disco Tits & Chocolate" the year before "Beards"

This year it will be "Gianni & Gin"

Our squad comes in all different shapes and sizes so this usually brings a few challenges with outfit co-ordination. As the plus size squad member I have to start the planning pretty early on, because it's impossible to curate a look within the confines of a theme and the mainstream plus size options in a mall. Never before has there been a opportunity for a group outfit either, because of our diverse shapes and lack of inclusive brand sizing. Fat Versace was never going to be easy. I'm not going to lie, I was wrestling with the idea of trying to go as the Medusa head in full comedy fashion and lack of other options! UNTIL TODAY!!!

Before you go off the deep end and send me emails about how this is an 'inspired' look and not true Versace, I get it, but It will not be stopping me from the purchase of a lifetime sent to me like a sign from the universe itself!

This year I shall be raising a glass of gin to Gianni and maybe a little cash on a GoFundme page for the down payment of a vulgar house a few streets up!

I know its hard to shop when you are plus size. I feel your pain. I do it not just for myself but for clients everyday! Sometimes though you just have to know where to look, and keep the faith that the fashion gods are favorable!
