The eternal questions on every single ladies lips! Is chivalry dead? Where did all the good guys go? Ladies, I think it is, worst still I think it maybe our bad!

What I am about to float out here is maybe a little controversial, so I feel like I should do some housekeeping and make a few disclaimers and trigger warnings ahead of time.

First of all I am a boss lady! I take care of business, hustle hard and have never nor ever desire to be a kept women by any man. I celebrate women and their glorious abilities to be and do anything they want to (including multi-millionaire business leaders and stay at home domestic goddesses alike)

I commend, love and applaud women that own their own shit. Women that break gender role stereotypes, and women that are strong, single minded, focused, independent and fearless.

We 'as women' have fort hard to be where we are in today's society. Although we have many roads to travel until we are considered totally equal to men. As a side note I am not terribly convinced we are equal. I have never met a guy that can conceive and carry the life of a little human. Just as I have never met a women that produces sperm. There are just somethings that we do differently that is nature. In my mind that doesn't mean we are less than it just means we are different. To say that we strive to be equal to men on every level seems to be a little extreme if not impossible. I don't think men and women were meant to be equal, I think they were meant to compliment each other. (in evolution on a primal and biological basis that's just science!)

If I do the same job as Derek, of course I expect to be paid the same salary. I also deserve the right to vote. I deserve the right to wear trousers, and not just skirts. I deserve the right to be taken seriously, to be educated and to be in a position of influence. If I want to change MY wheel on MY car or join the military I damn well will. Every day it becomes more and more socially acceptable and celebrated for me to do all of those things and quite right too.

But I have to ask, In a society that has been trying to reshape minds and redefine our gender gap so fiercely, and tenaciously for so long, Is it possible that we have created a media machine and feminist rhetoric that has snowballed way past justice and into female supremacy and it is killing off all the 'real men' ?

I am a 36yr old women that wears her big girl pants everyday! I am perfectly capable of opening my own car door and paying for my own Filet Mignon and bottle of Chateauneuf Du Pape. But is it not lovely to have those things done for you? I have this little feminine voice of primal vulnerability, that (to the disgust of some women) I want to be nurtured and served by a man. I like to be treated like a lady, I love to have my doors opened. Not because I struggle with the menial tasks in life, but because I choose not to do them. Knowing you can do something and choosing not to isn't weak, that's ultimate smarts!

Just as I have the little lady voice, i'm sure that some men must have a little cave man voice in their mind. Wanting to protect, provide and desire a women. Is it possible that we have become so focused on "I can do it!" that we have conditioned men not too? Emasculating men one door handle at a time.

As strong females that are raising the next generation of young men, do we teach them the art of chivalry on behalf of our daughters? Or are we too focused on teaching our daughters to "Run the world" like Beyonce? (I bet my ass that Jay Z opens the door for QueenB!)

Ladies be a bad ass! Be a boss! Never stop chasing your dreams and make no apology for it, but maybe think twice before you open a door on date night, or rush to go dutch at dinner. Your ability and right to be equally different to every man on the planet, does not mean we have to continually fight and rage against the machine to a point of obsession and oppression. Let him treat you like a lady and embrace the femininity in feminism once in a while. Teach the next generation by example. Maybe that's how we bring back chivalry from the dead.
